arrest warrants served throughout the city. this street was blocked off for several hours this morning is now back open. but just up the block, police are inside of a home. want to show you what this looks like. a s.w.a.t. tame converged on a home here at 13th avenue near 19th street -- team converged on a home here at 13th avenue near 19th street. a man and a woman were taken from a house here. it's unclear what the charges are. a sergeant on the scene confirms to me that a number of people, more than just those two, were taken into that custody as part of a series that were done at multiple locations throughout oakland. we talked a short time ago with a neighbor. she said she woke up to police activity outside of her apartment. >> i looked out of my window

and it was like this all of these blue, red lights everywhere. and everybody is pointing to the house. what's going on in that house that's so serious? i don't know what it is. i have never heard anything that bad. so what's actually going on in there? >> reporter: it's unclear what was going on inside the home that caught the attention of oakland police officers. but again, officers are inside the home. they are executing a search warrant there. collecting evidence there, a couple of officers standing by. but the situate operation has been ended here. so the s.w.a.t. team is done with their operation. a number of people have been taken into custody trying to gather more information and learn what those warrants -- what those arrest warrants were. we hope to speak to the department. we hope to have more information later on here on "mornings on 2." we're live in oakland.

a rare tornado caused damage north of sacramento. here's video of a funnel cloud that touched down around 3:15 yesterday afternoon near yuba city. the twister downed trees and power lines. this is the aftermath, this is elk grove around 5:00. the winds also knocked down fences and damaged some roofs.

several funnel clouds were reported in the area stretching east to the foothills. ikea will officially announce plans for completely green energy. ikea plans to rely on wind and solar energy to power all ikea stores. they plan to replace 1.2 million incan defendantant light bull -- incan dessant -- incandescan light bulbs.

highway 101. >> southbound 101, a little bit of slow track there. nothing like it was yesterday. yesterday, we got a lot of complaints about the marin county commute. it's more back to normal. across the bay the at bay bridge toll plaza. it's backed up for about a 15, 20-minute delay. if you are driving from vallejo to richmond, you will see some slow traffic there and a lot of slow traffic this morning on the san mateo bridge as you head out to the peninsula. 8:25. most of the precip is really starting to taper off rapidly.

think is that they've had five days off. they may be rusty. they did not really play well during the 2006 world series. you got some guys and there's nobody more important than the guy you call blockbuster. marco scutaro. he got traded here july 28th. since then he led the major leagues in hitting. he's the guy right now.

justin verlander is probably the best pitcher in the major leagues right now. last year's mvp as well as cy young winner. the tigers are gonna put him into two, three games. the giants are gonna have to deal with justin ver dander -- justin verlander. the giants bullpen is so much more superior than the tigers. the tigers's bullpen is like in disarray. and then you have matt cain -- >> the giants, they gave up one run against the st. louis cardinals in the -- this is a strong starter. people say barry zito against justin ver zander, well, they've won the last 14 straight starts. they've won those games. he's kind of a good luck charm,

stocks still down sharply

after dupont slashed earnings forecast. the latest piece of bad news. taking a live look at the big board, the dow is currently down 255. that is down almost 2%. the nasdaq down 36. s&p down 24. pete's coffee is being dropped from the standard and poor's small cap 600 index. that's because pete's, which has its current corporate headquarters in emeryville, is being bought by a private germany conglomerate. it will be replaced by coherent, incorporated, a santa clara company. if you have less than $500 in emergency savings you are not alone. according to a new survey, 41% of the americans are in the same situation. 1100 people were polled and nearly half had less than $500 in the bank. that includes dual income

apology. timothy hanready, the forer superintendent of the portola school district, said he was extremely remorseful as he was sentenced for two years -- to two years in prison yesterday. he pleaded no contest for felony charges for documents to get a lone on his home. he will have to pay restitution but it's up clear how much. developing news, a missing petaluma teenager has been found safe in fresno county. police arrested her godfather. police say the 15-year-old girl and man were found yesterday afternoon at a home south of fresno. police went there after a reporter went to -- received the tip. police say she was confronted with a -- about a sexual relation ship with her godfather. a teenager in concord

received the maximum sentence for running down and filling -- and killing two bicyclists. the 1-year-old were speeding when he hit a 9-year-old last year. because he was 17 years old at the time of the crash, he was sentenced to seven years in a juvenile facility. but he will be released in about three years when he turns 21. we hope he's rehabilitated. but there are two still two -- but there are still two people dead because of his gross negligence. the teenaged driver did not speak during the hearing. he will be back for a hearing on restitution. a lot of police activity in oakland overnight. >> the latest developments in the search for oakland police and why it is part of a much larger investigation. also, we're looking outside a live look at the traffic.

team stormed this area. then are still talking to people inside the home. you can see two people in the back of the squad car here. a search warrant served here. we'll show you what the scene looked like at 12th and 19th. when we got here, a s.w.a.t. team descended -- descended on had house around 5:00 a.m. we have video of several people taken into custody. and a sergeant told me officers had arrest warrants for a number of people they were looking for. he couldn't talk about the specifics of this investigation or what it pertains to. new was a lot of activity for neighbors in this area and they were certainly surprise wide this -- by this s.w.a.t. operation. >> what what's going on in that house that's so serious there? i don't know what it is. i have never heard anything
